Floris Hovers

Over the past twenty years, designer and artist Floris Hovers has built up a colorful, playful, and surprising body of work with a signature style all his own. Hovers is known for his ability to evoke maximum imagination with minimal means.

For WOEL, he designed the tapestry Cars, a lively composition reminiscent of a bustling intersection. From a bird’s-eye view, we look down on cars entering the scene from different directions. The vehicles, their shadows, and beams of light together form a layered interplay of lines, colors, and directions.
